This game uses HTML5 technology. Your browser does not support HTML5, likely because it is out of date.

You can do ONE of these things:
  • Recommended: Install and use the latest version of Firefox or Google Chrome. The games play best in these browsers.
  • OK: If you are using Internet Explorer, update your browser to the most recent version (version 9 or 10.) Internet Explorer 9 requires Windows Vista or Windows 7. Internet Explorer 10 Requires Windows 7 or Windows 8.
  • Also OK: Another option for Internet Explorer is to use the Google Chrome Frame Plug-In. This option adds HTML5 technology to Internet Explorer for websites that require it. Installation is fast and easy. You must close and restart all browser windows after installation.
  • Not Recommended: You may also use the old Java versions of the games by clicking the link above this game space. Support is limited. You should also be aware that Java has security issues. While the games at SoliTaire! Network are safe, visiting a malicious site while Java is enabled in your browser can result in malicious aplications being installed.

FreeCell SoliTaire! Rules:

Move all cards to the four Foundation piles from Ace to King in the same suit.

The Deal

Using one deck, all cards are dealt face up 8 columns in the layout. The first four columns are dealt 7 cards each and the last four columns are dealt 6 cards each.

Foundations are built UP and IN SUIT starting with Aces. For example, on the Ace of Clubs, only the 2 of Clubs may be played, then the 3 of Clubs, etc.

Columns must be built DOWN IN ALTERNATING COLOR. For example, a black 7 can be placed on a red 8, but not on a black 8. However, any card may be placed in an empty Column.

Only the topmost card in any column may be moved.

The are four Reserves that act as a holding spot for any card at any time - the "free cells." These Reserve spots start the game empty.

Game Notes's version of FreeCell supports a "Supermove" where you may move more than one card at a time as long as the move would have been possible had it been done moving a single card at a time also.

Currently, there are certain situations where the game doesn't allow a supermove that is valid. We will work on improving the game until this problem is resolved.
